Central Florida Community
The Central Florida REC Community serves the tri-county area of Citrus, Marion, Sumter, and Lake Counties to bring the REC events to county jails. In August, 2007 the REC program was brought to Central Florida from Louisville, KY. The first Florida REC took place in June, 2008 at the Sumter County Detention Center in Bushnell. Since that time REC weekends have been held numerous times at Central Florida County Detention Centers. Download our brochure (PDF format). Monthly REC gatherings are held in the following Florida county jails: Sumter County Jail: Monthly gatherings at the Sumter County Detention Center are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month.
